Matt began his career as a CAD technician. Whilst working, he undertook additional studies culminating in an honours degree in Civil and Structural Engineering. He has progressed from technician, design engineer, and principal engineer to his current position as a Director at PaSCoE. This on the job training has given Matt a wide range of experience on various schemes within the UK, involving temporary and permanent works including steel/concrete/timber design, earthworks, foundations, and retaining structures.

An Incorporated structural engineer and associate member of the Institution of Structural Engineers, and an active member of the Temporary Works Forum carrying out peer reviews of guidance notes for the standardisation of temporary works design to Eurocodes.

He enjoys problem solving and providing practical workable solutions to clients which can range from hand calculations to high end finite element analysis.

Matt has 3 young daughters therefore spare time is in short supply – when he gets the chance he enjoys a game of squash and watching rugby.
